'Rogue Trooper Redux' Remake Of The Original 2000AD Comic Game Headed To Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox And PC
JP"Rogue Trooper Redux" is headed to the Sony PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft PC and the Nintendo Switch. The announcement was recently made by the game's developer, Rebellion.
The third-person shooter game was first released in 2006 for the PS2, Xbox and Windows PC. A Wii version of the game was released in 2009. Now, a "Rogue Trooper" Nintendo Switch version is set to be launched.
"Rogue Trooper Redux" will be a collaboration between the original game's developer Rebellion Developments and UK-based studio TickTock games. The original game loosely based on the 2000 AD Comic Book.
According to GameStop, the "Rogue Trooper Redux" PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch game will be the first time that Rebellion Developments will be working with an outside studio on a 2000 AD video game project. The latest game that came out of the TickTock stable is "Cricket Captain 2016."
According to Kotaku, the collaboration between Rebellion and TickTock may be just the first of many collaborations that Rebellion will be having with other third party game developers. Rebellion also holds the rights for "Judge Dredd and Slaine.
"Rogue Trooper Redux" will follow the game's original storyline, which revolves around the game's main protagonist, Rogue. The game will still be played in Nu-Earth, a planet filled with poisonous gasses because of the use of biological and chemical weapons in the perpetual war between the North and Southers.
The original version of the third-person shooter game follows the exploits of Rogue, the lone surviving member of a superior troop known as Genetic Infantry or GI. In the game, GIs are immune to the deadly atmosphere of Nu-Earth.
No other details have been released about the upcoming game remake. A "Rogue Trooper Redux" release date for PS4, Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch is yet to be determined.
