Microsoft Creators Update Latest News: Company Reveals Window Phones To Receive Latest Update
Keisuke AkioThe Microsoft's latest Creators Update for Windows 10 users has rolled out already. This update is available for PC users only, as of the moment, and its release for Windows Phone is still expected to come.
In relation to this, the tech giant stated that on April 25, mobile phone users with Windows as their OS will experience the acclaimed Creators Update. However, they are apologetic in saying that it will only be available for a handful of devices. Unfortunately, the more disappointing part is that those Windows Phone without Creators Update support will no longer obtain the development build from the Windows Insider Program in the future, says ZDNet.
Overall, eleven Windows Phone is eligible to receive the Creators Update. Included in the list are Alcatel IDOL 4S, Alcatel OneTocuh Fierce XL, HP Elite X3, Lenovo Softbank 503LV, MCJ MadosmaQ601, Microsoft Lumia 550, Microsoft Lumia 640 and 640 XL, Microsoft Lumia 650, Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950XL, Trinity NuAns Neo, and VAIO VPB051.
Via the blog post of Dona Sarker, the Window Insider chief, this list of Windows Phone with Creators Update eligibility is released. Those Windows Phone users who are in the Windows Insider program but with unsupported phones which are not included in the list prior mentioned can still keep the development built by Windows 10 Creators update but it will be at their own risk.
It is understandable that a lot of Windows Phone users will feel upset regarding the very short list of supported devices. The Windows' creator admitted that there are quite a number of feedbacks pointing to the inability of the older phones to provide the best Windows experience when the device will be updated to Creators update, with that, the list was made.
New build from the Creators Update will be received continually by Windows Phone models that are included in the list, once it is released. This new build will be going forward coming from the Insider program, which includes the first Redstone 3 build (15204). It will be available this coming weekend, reported by The Verge.
