Staff ReporterOwners of the Xperia X smartphone that's part of Sony's Concept for Android program is in for good news. Reportedly the Japanese company will release an Android 7.1.2 update this week.
Google is reportedly trying to roll out the final Android 7.1.2 update for select devices this week. Apparently, it's been causing several Nexus and Pixel devices to behave erratically.
Hopefully, Sony's update will not have any of these minor issues as it looks like Xperia X Concept users will be next in line to receive the new firmware.
According to GSMArena, some fundamental changes will come along with the new update. Users will experience improved swipe performance, better Bluetooth connectivity, new battery usage alerts, and other minor fixes.
Luckily the guys at Sony are working hard on making their devices stand out from the rest of the competition. According to the report, the company has been doing a great job of giving Xperia X Concept users with regular updates. Furthermore, each new update brings new features to Sony's Concept for Android program.
The new update will be using the Xperia X units for the company's experimental track to improve Sony's Xperia devices. The blog post also mentioned that the fingerprint swipe is not part of the program and won't be suitable in this case.
Interested Sony smartphone owners can download and join the program through the Play Store. However, it's limited to the European single SIM model of the Xperia X, F5121.
The Concept for Android program has been on the air for quite some time now. Sony's program allows users to have quick updates in exchange for trying out new software programs for the Japanese company. You can check out WhatGear's YouTube video below to know more.
