Samsung Galaxy S23 Users Report Touchscreen Unresponsive Issue After One UI 6.1 Update
Austin JaySamsung's release of One UI 6.1 has received mixed reviews among Galaxy S23 users due to the widespread adoption of touchscreen problems in some models. In addition to the AI-app feature enhancement, a handful of users were left with screens that no longer work or partially non-responsive touchscreens after the update.
There has been a surge of complaints online and on social media regarding the malfunction of touchscreens of Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra smartphones. Therefore, this is widespread and exists in all versions of the smartphone.
In multiple cases, some users experienced episodes like their screens being unresponsive or that the screen only recognizes inputs from the S Pen stylus.
While some affected devices have undergone screen replacements with non-OEM parts, others are experiencing issues despite having original components. This discrepancy raises questions about the root cause of the problem and its potential impact on different device configurations.
Despite attempts to resolve the issue through standard troubleshooting methods, such as restarting the device, many users have found themselves without a viable solution. Sometimes, downgrading the software to One UI 6.0 has restored touchscreen functionality, offering a temporary workaround until a permanent fix is implemented.
Samsung has acknowledged the touchscreen issues associated with the One UI 6.1 update and attributed them to compatibility conflicts with certain Google app features. In response, the company has recommended a temporary solution involving updating and clearing the Google app data via Google Play.
Users experiencing touchscreen glitches are advised to update the Google app to the latest version, clear its data through the device's settings, and restart their smartphones. While this workaround may alleviate the issue for some users, Google is actively working on a permanent solution to address the underlying compatibility issues.

The One UI 6.1 update began its course in March for devices, including Samsung's Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 tablet series. But next in line comes the notice of charging and fingerprint problems as well, next to the unaccounted touch screen issues, underlining a broader impact on the overall system performance.
One UI 6.1 arrived with a lot of possibilities because it had implemented an AI-served intelligence and gave its users a good experience. Nonetheless, the coming to the fore of the common problems would make the managers see the difficulties of implementing large-scale software updates for various devices that make up the complex ecosystems more pronounced.
Ending the discussion, Samsung is trying its best to solve the touchscreen issues that are hindering users of the Galaxy S23. However, affected customers are advised to refer to the company's official communication and response to the problem and follow the recommended troubleshooting processes.
While the tech company is going to resolve these problems the customers shall keep in touch with the updates and assistance on contingency measures for any software-generated issues in their devices.
