U.S. carrier AT&T, as promised, released its version of the highly anticipated HTC One X+ on Nov. 16. The carrier had the HTC One X+ up for pre-order from Nov. 13 and now the smartphone has hit the consumer market.
The HTC One X+ is priced at $199.99 on a two-year contract and is now available for purchase both online and in AT&T stores. Currently, AT&T also offers the HTC One X for $99.
"Customers looking for a smartphone that combines outstanding design, authentic sound, an amazing camera, HD entertainment, and the power of a quad-core processor will surely add the HTC OneTM X+ to the top of their wish list," noted AT&T.
The HTC One X+ sports a 4.7-inch Super LCD 2 display (1280 x 720) with 312ppi. Per AT&T, the HTC One X+ "will be the first smartphone to combine Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with the 1.7 GHz NVIDIA® Tegra® 3 '4-PLUS-1TM' quad-core processor with a battery saving fifth core."
The HTC One X+ measures 5.26 x 2.66 x 0.36 inches and weighs 4.37 ounces. The smartphone also features a 1.6 megapixels and 8 megapixels front-facing and rear-facing cameras, respectively. The NFC-enabled smartphone has 1GB of RAM, 64GB of on-board memory, and is powered by a 2100mAh battery.
Additionally, the HTC One X+ will have the distinction of being "the first smartphone in the U.S. to feature performance improvements and benefits of HTC Sense 4+."
The 4G LTE smartphone packs in new features like Auto Portrait mode for the front camera, which helps users capture high quality pictures by "detecting the human face at various angles." The Sightseeing mode too makes clicking photos simpler and a single touch of the power button lets users launch directly into the camera mode.
The HTC One X+ is undoubtedly and improvement on the One X, and is well worth the extra $100. Would you be picking up the Carbon Black HTC One X+ from AT&T?
