Verizon recently launched its much-awaited version of Samsung's best-selling phablet, the Galaxy Note 2. However, users are already raising questions pertaining to the Multi-Window View feature as it is currently limited to a few select apps.
However, fans of the Galaxy Note 2 on Verizon need not be disappointed as Samsung has confirmed on Twitter that it will soon provide support for the Gmail and YouTube apps in Multi-Window View mode for the carrier's variant (which is yet to receive the update).
Samsung addressed a query on Twitter which asked when the YouTube and Gmail apps would be available in the Multi-Window panel of the Verizon Galaxy Note 2.
"@SamsungSupport Why aren't Youtube and Gmail available in the multi-window panel on the Verizon Galaxy Note 2?" asked a user.
"That feature will be available soon, please stay tuned for updates," responded Samsung Support USA.
However, the company did not disclose by when the software update that would bring support for the two apps for the Verizon Galaxy Note 2 variant would be available.
The Multi-Window View feature lets users multi-task by letting them run two apps simultaneously. The screen areas taken up by each can be adjusted, and the split-screen functionality the feature brings to the Galaxy Note 2's 5.5-inch display makes for an uncluttered multi-tasking space.
Interestingly, per a Droid Life report, the Total Commander app works seamlessly with this feature, and once downloaded from the Play Store it automatically gets populated in the list of apps that can be used with Multi-Window View.
"Total Commander works flawlessly with multi-window. Once downloaded from the Play store, it automatically appears in the list of apps for use with multi-window," noted the Web site.
This gives an indication that perhaps, developers may be able to offer Multi-Window View support in their apps.
With Samsung slated to push out the update "soon", Galaxy Note 2 users on Verizon will have to wait a while before they can add YouTube and Gmail to the Multi-Window View-friendly app list.
What are some other apps you would like to see Samsung offer Multi-Window View support for in the Galaxy Note 2?
