Samsung's Galaxy S3 has been raking in the sales figures worldwide and the smartphone recently breezed past the 30 million sales milestone. The Galaxy S3 is available in an array of colors; however, reports suggest that U.S. carrier T-Mobile will soon phase out the Pebble Blue (16GB) variant in favor of the Titanium Gray one.
The folks at Android Community have managed to get their hands on a leaked T-Mobile internal memo, which reveals that come 2013, the carrier will replace the 16GB Pebble Blue Galaxy S3 with Titanium Gray. Despite the wide range of colors available, it seems that T-Mobile wants to limit its offerings to just two hues for the 16GB variant of the smartphone.
"While some carriers, such as AT&T have the Samsung Galaxy S III available in a variety of colors, it looks like T-Mobile is set on keeping the color options to two at most. This comes by way of a leaked, and yet to be confirmed T-Mobile memo. According to what we are seeing, the memo has the carrier phasing out the Pebble Blue color in favor of Titanium Gray," stated an Android Community report.
Currently, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is available in a wide variety of hues like Pebble Blue, Marble White, Amber Brown, Garnet Red, Sapphire Black, Titanium Grey, and even a La Fleur version. Samsung also offers the best-selling smartphone in Martian Pink in Korea.
According to Android Community, T-Mobile will reportedly launch the Titanium Gray version of the Galaxy S3 on Jan. 4. However, the leaked internal memo discloses that the carrier cannot begin selling this color till its existing inventory of Pebble Blue is over.
While potential buyers may not be able to procure the new color from Jan. 4, the report suggests that the gray model will be available in stores no later than Jan. 9. Additionally, retailers like Walmart and Best Buy will also start offering the gray model of the Galaxy S3 on the same day as T-Mobile begins its sale.
T-Mobile will continue offering the 16GB Galaxy S3 in Marble White and the 32GB variant in both Pebble Blue and Marble White.
