We're stepped into 2013 but Galaxy Note 2's popularity shows no sign of waning. A recent leaked image of the phablet suggested that Samsung will launch the device in black as well. However, Samsung fans will be disappointed to learn that the leaked picture of the black Galaxy Note 2 was phony, and is the handiwork of a Samsung fan who manipulated the image via Photoshop.
Currently, the Galaxy Note 2 is available in Marble White and Titanium Gray options. A few days ago, Android Slash reported that a black version of the Galaxy Note 2 was in the works and the site had got its hands on a leaked imaged that confirmed the same.
"Recently I wrote about regarding the Note II the colors which come to the market soon. Now a press photo from the Galaxy Note 2 will appear in black," stated the Android Slash report (translated). Per the original report, the black Galaxy Note 2 was expected to make an appearance at either the Customer Electronics Show (CES) or the Mobile World Congress (MWC).
Now, Android Slash has updated the report confirming that the image of the Galaxy Note 2 has been manipulated using Photoshop or a similar program.
Even though the existence of the black Galaxy Note 2 seems to have been ruled out as of now, it does not mean that the phablet will not come in other colors.
Samsung initially released Galaxy S3 in Marble White and Pebble Blue colors and then introduced the device in more colors. Similarly, it cannot be ruled out that the Galaxy Note 2 may be available in Amber Brown, Topaz Blue, and Ruby Wine in the near future.
For now, Samsung fans' dream of seeing Galaxy Note 2 in black has gone up in smoke. However, it may not come as a surprise if Samsung does decide to bring a black avatar of the phablet soon.
