Treyarch, it seems, is completely aware as to what's happening with the popular 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 2' Prestige level, with several players hacking into it and glitching the game, behind the company's back. Now the company feels that it's high time something needs to be done to stop completely.
Per reports, Treyarch's David Vonderhaar has confirmed that the prestige master glitch, which most players have been exploiting online, will be reset by the company.
The information was revealed after a fan of the game, Max @Irqendeiner, asked Vonderhaar: "there are so many guys who glitched/hacked to master prestige on ps3. any chance that they are getting reset?"
Vonderhaar replied that there is a "100% chance" of that happening, although he fell short of answering as to when that would happen. However, the important thing here is that Treyarch will not let these 'players' run loose as the current reply also means that the process of resetting these players is currently at work, and might arrive sooner rather than later.
Nonetheless, this current issue of hacking into the game has caused a lot of stir among existing as well as new players. Gamingbolt writes: "Why would you do it anyway? The game is really costly and at least in the developing countries and you risk of losing your account or just getting your stats reset. I know it feels good when people praise your stats but ask yourself, are you doing the right thing?"
"Why not own people based on your skills and increase your ratio in a legit way. You can also camp if you want; anything is better than hac.... NO DON'T CAMP."
It is to be noted here that people who are playing by the rules have nothing to worry about as the company is currently tracking down the glitchers to reset their stats, or even permanently banning them from the game.
Users have been discussing the problem on Reddit. A Reddit user wrote that people "are basically paying others for altering their accounts to give them higher KD's, different titles, all weapon unlocks, etc. Kinda silly as the accounts are being banned, but I was wondering why we were running into so many MP's last night and guys with 4+ KD's dying 30+ times in a game."
