Cricket Wireless and HTC have just revealed plans to sell the HTC One SV in the U.S. from Jan. 16.
Priced at $349.99, the smartphone comes with above-average specifications. With Cricket Wireless being the real winner in data plans, HTC One SV is a hot deal for customers.
Specifications-wise, the One SV has features considered in the middle of the One line-up by HTC. The smartphone has a 4.3-inch 480 X 800 pixels display, same as HTC One S, but the display technology upgraded to Super LCD 2 from AMOLED. Additionally, the display is fingerprint resistant and protected with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass.
"The HTC One SV joins our award-winning HTC One series to bring an affordable superphone to U.S. customers. The HTC One SV combines sleek contours and a vibrant color with superfast performance courtesy of the dual-core processor and 4G LTE technology," said Mike Woodward, president at HTC (North America), in a statement.
The smartphone runs on a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.2GHz. If the on-board 8GB of storage is not enough, users can add additional 32GB of storage via a microSD card.
The HTC One SV has a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera that records full HD 1080p videos. Advanced camera options include continuous shooting and HTC VideoPic. The secondary camera in the device is 1.6 megapixels. The upcoming phone runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 4 integration. The device also comes with Beats Audio integration, Near Field Communication (NFC), Dropbox integration, and Android Beam.
Cricket Wireless in offering three 4G LTE plans on the phone - a $50 per month plan with 2GB of full speed data, a $60 per month plan with 5GB of full speed data, and a $70 per month plan with 10GB of full speed data. These plans also include the basics such as unlimited text and unlimited voice.
These plans are valid for a limited time only, before Cricket slashes the monthly full speed data allowance in half, equaling the data allowance for 3G plans with the phone.
HTC One SV comes as the first U.S. smartphone announcement of 2013. However, the handset is already available SIM-free in Asia and Europe.
