People, who were very disappointed after getting the news of LG discontinuing the production of the Nexus 4, have some feel-good information here.
According to a new report, new inventory of the Nexus 4 is heading to T-Mobile stores. This bit of information, however, can be taken as an indicator of the last chance to grab a good and affordable device running on Android.
The screenshot, TmoNews managed to get, shows that though the stock is reaching the T-Mobile stores, the quantity is not big enough and the units might be among the last ones LG Electronics is letting out of its stocks.
The screenshot not only shows that the devices were ordered, but also reveals that the inventory has already been shipped to the particular store. If compare the ordered quantity of Nexus 4 it is less than 50 percent of the numbers of Samsung Galaxy 3.
If we go by the screenshot only, T-Mobile will offer its faster 4G plan for the smartphone.
The Nexus 4 was released late last year and all the devices sold out twice as soon as they were put on sale. There was no official statement from either Google or LG about the number of devices released and sold. Analysts, however, figured out the number of sold phones to be approximately 500,000. Since the number of manufactured and sold units is not given out officially, estimating the number of units being made available to T-Mobile is not possible.
Recent rumors had indicated towards LG discontinuing Nexus 4's production in order to concentrate its future products like upcoming Nexus 5.
Statement of LG Electronics' Senior Vice President, James Fisher, at the International CES, that the Nexus 4 was just "the first of many devices" in the company's production list, was seen as an indication towards the company's long list of future products.
"Through our collaboration with Google, we launched the LG Nexus 4 smartphone. This is the first of many devices to come from our growing partnership with this very selective company," Fisher added.
