Fans of Sony's PlayStation 3 (or PS3) gaming console are in for a treat. The Japanese company has announced that it is introducing a bundle in North America, which features the Classic White PS3.

The white color variant of the PS3 is a first for the region, as traditionally, users have only been offered the black version.

"When we launched the new, slimmer, lighter PS3, one of the top requests we heard from you was to bring the white PS3 to North America. We've answered the call - for the first time in North America, we are introducing a bundle that features a Classic White PS3," noted the PlayStation blog.

The Classic White PS3 Instant Game Collection Bundle will also include 500GB of hard drive storage and a free year-long membership to PlayStation Plus, apart from the white console, and all this is for $299.99.

For the uninitiated, Sony offers the PlayStation Plus for $49.99 a year, which is inclusive of 12 free games for PS3 and six games for PS Vita.

"With a 500GB hard disk drive, the Classic White PS3 makes it easy for you to store your favorite games from PS Plus, like inFAMOUS 2 and LittleBigPlanet 2, along with movies, TV shows, music, photos and other PSN DLC," notes the PlayStation blog post.

The new bundle is slated to hit the North American shelves on Jan. 27. There's no word on a UK release.
