Android fans who have been hoping that Samsung pulls out a few aces with its upcoming Galaxy S4 will not be disappointed. The next-gen Galaxy S4 will house Samsung's newly announced 8-core processor, the Exynos 5 Octa, which is clocked at 1.8GHz, per an AnTuTu benchmark result.
Per reports, both the Korean (SHV-E300S) and the international variants (GT-I9500) of the Galaxy S4 have surfaced on the AnTuTu benchmark results. The benchmark results reveal that the smartphone features the Exynos 5 Octa processor, which is clocked at 1.8GHz.
The report is courtesy Japanese site Blue Ringer Men who has also shared the screenshots of the benchmark results.
"Smartphone "GT-I9500" unpublished Samsung-made mounting a 1.8Ghz processor and Android 4.2.1 has appeared in AnTuTu benchmark," reported Japanese blog Blue Ringer Men (translated). "21 469" is the total score. The operating frequency of the CPU is at 1800Mhz, are consistent with the maximum operating frequency of Exynos5 Octa (1.8Ghz)."
Another blog post from the site revealed that the Korean version of the Galaxy S4 that has the model number "SHV-E300S" also popped up on the AnTuTu benchmark tests. Additionally, the benchmark result also discloses that the impending Galaxy S4 will have Android 4.2.1 Jelly bean out of the box, and not Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie as rumored.
Earlier this week, rumors ran amok that Samsung would be employing the 8-core processor in the purported 6.3-inch Galaxy Note 3, which is also expected to debut in 2013.
With the 4.99-inch Galaxy S4 set to feature the Exynos 5 Octa, it seems Samsung is onto yet another winner.
