The Nexus 4 is Google's current flagship Nexus smartphone. Ever since the device launched on Google's Play Store, it has completely sold out within minutes each time it is in stock. T-Mobile is the only U.S. carrier selling the smartphone and it is now available on their Web site.
The Nexus 4 features a 4.7-inch WXGA (1280 x 769) True HD screen, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, quad-core 1.5 GHz processor, 16GB internal storage, 2GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, 1.3-megapixel front camera, WiFi, HSPA+ radio, Bluetooth, NFC, and a 2,100 mAh battery.
It is one of the hottest Android smartphones around. Its high-end specs, low price, and contract-free availability make it very desirable. Unfortunately getting your hands on one of those low price, contract-free smartphones through Google's Play Store is anything but easy. Whenever Google restocks the Nexus 4, it immediately sells out. Some customers who ordered the device when it first became available faced seeing their orders being moved to backorder status and an expected shipping time of three weeks. Google and LG have both blamed each other for the issues regarding Nexus 4 supplies and hopefully things will begin to improve. At the time of reporting, the $299 8GB Nexus 4 and $349 16GB Nexus 4 are both completely sold-out on Google's Play Store.
This is where T-Mobile comes in. If you really want a Nexus 4 and are willing to lock yourself into a new 2-year contract with T-Mobile you can purchase the 16GB Nexus 4 for $199 from their online store right now.
T-Mobile is waiving the $35 activation fee for a limited time on all devices ordered online. The carrier is sweetening the deal even more to get you to buy a Nexus 4 from them instead of waiting for it to appear on Google Play by offering free shipping on the Nexus 4. If you've been waiting for a Nexus 4, you might want to jump at this chance quickly, as there is now word on how many devices T-Mobile has on hand to fulfill orders.
