Samsung Galaxy Note 2 owners in Canada will be eagerly waiting for the Android 4.1.2 to makes its way to their handsets, but it seems that the wait will be extended as the update will roll out in early February.
The 5.5-inch handset is offered by major carriers including Rogers, Bell, TELUS, and SaskTel in Canada. Users are keenly waiting for new features, especially Multi-Window View, to be imbibed in the Galaxy Note 2 post the update.
"We've reached out to Samsung to see what the hold-up has been and have an quick update for you. According to an email I received the Jelly Bean update has been pushed out a few weeks, now expected to hit sometime early February," reported Mobile Syrup.
The Multi-Window View feature allows Samsung's phablet to behave similarly to a tablet when it comes to bringing multitasking to the small screen. For instance, users can open a Web browser on one side of the screen and another app on the other side of the screen and view them simultaneously.
As the Galaxy Note 2 features a quad-core processor, the Multi-Window feature is smooth and the transitions are seamless. The Multi-Window View is one of the features of the Galaxy Note 2, which makes the phablet stand out from the crowd.
The Multi-View feature of the Galaxy Note 2 comes pre-loaded only in the international and Verizon (U.S.) versions of the handsets. Customers on other carriers had to wait for the Multi-View feature to be enabled after their respective carriers rolled out the Android 4.1.2 OTA software update.
Samsung Canada has not released an exact date when the update will be rolled out. We will have to wait and see how quickly the update reaches Canadian Galaxy Note 2 owners.
