Amazon dominates the Android tablet market worldwide with its Kindle Fire range and that over 59 percent of all Android tablet usage comes from the U.S, claimed a new report from app analytics company Localytics.
Citing the research report from Localytics that goes live on Tuesday, Kindle Fire tablet is the most owned Android tablet on the planet, The Next Web reported. The number of Amazon Fire devices in the U.S. alone represents 33 percent of all Android tablets worldwide. It should also be noted that the U.S. is the world's biggest tablet market with a 59 percent market share.
The main reason behind this is believed to be the limited availability of the device as Amazon released the Kindle Fire range only in the U.S. initially; however, the tablet lineup was later released in selected European markets. According to the Localytics estimates, nearly 89 percent of Kindle Fires are based in the U.S.
As the U.S. based Kindle devices accounts for a third of all Android tablets worldwide, the Amazon product is well ahead of Nexus 7 (US ownership is 8 percent of the worldwide total), Samsung's Galaxy range (9 percent) and Barnes and Noble's Nook (10 percent), TNW report said.
The research is based on the usage of apps with Localytics analysis and marketing tools installed on them and according to the firm, it has over 500 million unique devices running that software.
Going by the research (though devoid of raw sales or shipments figures), if Amazon manages to strategically work out its international distribution, the company can repeat its U.S. success in the international market to dominate the Android tablet market worldwide. Amazon has already reached out to the potential Chinese market with its app store and it is rumored that its popular devices including Kindle, Kindle Fire and others will reach the country in a short period of time.
