Rumors surrounding one of the much-anticipated Android smartphones for 2013, the Samsung Galaxy S4, are heating up as the alleged March debut date nears. However, recent rumors suggest that the Galaxy S4 is slated for a launch event in Russia, not this year, but in 2014.
In 2012, the Korean smartphone maker held the Galaxy S3 Unpacked event in London. However, per reports, the successor Galaxy S4 may launch in Moscow, Russia.
"The Samsung unpacked event for Sochi 2014 where the Olympic winter games in Russia are held. Recently Samsung announced a sponsoring partnership with Sochi 2014. Of course is Sochi 2014 still far away... But it is possible!" reported SamMobile.
The Winter Olympic Games will start in Sochi in February 2014. If the rumor is to be believed, then smartphone enthusiasts who are eagerly waiting for the Galaxy S4 may have to wait much longer.
The Galaxy S3, released in May last year, has won over the hearts of millions of users globally. Speculations of the next-generation Galaxy S4, its hardware features and design have been surfacing on the Internet for a while now. Previous reports indicated that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S4 in March this year and the smartphone will start shipping from April onwards.
The April shipping date of the smartphone seems more realistic as it will be nearly a year after the release of its predecessor.
The Galaxy S4 is expected to pack in a slew of top-end features, including eye-tracking technology, and will likely give stiff competition to other smartphone in its category.
It's anybody's guess whether Samsung will leave us waiting for another year before it launches the Galaxy S4, or if the smartphone will make its appearance in March 2013 itself.
