Apple's iOS 6.1 is out, so does the untethered jailbreak for the latest mobile operating system of the Cupertino-based tech giant. However, as Apple rolled out iOS 6.1.1 beta 1 for developers, questions started coming up from everywhere that will it be safe to update to iOS 6.1.1 once it's released for people who want jailbreak.
Clearing all the air about the scare, Apple security researcher and hacker pod2g declared that iOS 6.1.1 beta 1 has nothing which fixes the evasi0n jailbreak.
However, he advised people not to update to iOS 6.1.1 just to be at a safer side.
"6.1.1 beta (10B311) does not fix the jailbreak. It'll probably happen in a future revision. Don't upgrade though, evasi0n won't let you jb," pod2g tweeted.
Moving forward from jailbreak, if we talk about other problems related to iOS 6.1, the latest iOS beta doesn't seem like focusing on battery, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth related problems.
Reports related to iOS 6.1.1 beta 1 suggest that the new update focuses on improving Siri's features. The update is reportedly working on fix map related problems in iOS 6.
Apple, with the release of iOS 6.1.1, is also expected the Auto Lock bug in iPhone 4S.
After updating to iOS 6, many iPhone 4S users experienced problems with Auto Lock in their devices.
"I seriously hope that apple can faster release iOS 6.1.1 and the bugs fixed then our phone can function well like before. Beside cant auto lock now I found out another bugs. That I can't use Instagram to take photo, when I press the 'capture', my phone will automatically exit from that app. Not only Instagram, even camera, Twitter and Facebook also the same," an iPhone 4S user posted on Apple's support forum after updating to iOS 6.
Meanwhile, another jailbreak community member iH8sn0w confirmed that the latest iOS beta from Apple has no expiry date. Earlier iOS betas were active for some weeks only and had an expiration date with their release; however, since the release of iOS 6.1 final beta this is the second time a beta version of iOS is not released with expiration date.
However, it doesn't mean that the version is not a beta, iH8sn0w says. "Just because it doesn't expire doesn't mean it's not a beta," he tweeted.
