Samsung fans waiting for the Korean company's wireless charging plate to hit the shelves are in for some good news. The wireless charging pad Samsung announced way back in May 2012 for its Galaxy S3 smartphone may soon hit the shelves, per reports.
The wireless charging pad by Samsung is compatible with Qi wireless charging standard, is designed to work with its Galaxy S3 smartphone and has a special backplate.
The wireless charging pad has now popped up on FCC, hinting that it won't be long before the accessory becomes available for purchase. The images published by FCC resemble the press images Samsung teased at the time of the Galaxy S3's launch.
"FCC published photos of the device, which looks exactly like the press images that Samsung teased at the Galaxy S3 launch event. From a technical perspective, the charger is a simple device, featuring inside a copper coil, a control board and a LED indicator. Details are scarce for now, but with the Mobile World Congress just around the corner, we expect to find more soon," reports Android Authority.
The wireless charging pad will enable users to charge their smartphones without plugging in their device to any cable.
Interestingly, the next-gen Galaxy S4 smartphone is also rumored to support wireless charging and, for all we know, the wireless charging pad could also be meant for the upcoming device.
