On Feb. 13, O2 UK listed the Nokia Lumia 620 low-end Windows Phone 8 device for the cool price of GBP 119.99 contract-free, and the next day, every single unit was sold out: a sure sign the promotion was a success.
Today, the Lumia 620 is still listed as out of stock, however, with some orders scheduled to be delivered to users within the next seven days. However, the GBP 119.99 price tag is gone. The device now costs GBP 149.99 without the need to sign a contract agreement that could keep you locked to the operator for the next two years or more.
The Nokia Lumia 620 is the most affordable Windows Phone 8 device on the market. The handset sports a 3.8-inch capactive touch display, 1GHz dual core processor, 512MB RAM, 5-megapixel rear camera, front-facing video camera, Near Field Communication, GPS, microSD card slot, 3G and Wi-Fi.
Despite being a low-end device, Nokia managed to get all its exclusive Windows Phone 8 apps working properly on the handset, which can be seen as a technical achievement. If the device manages to do well in the smartphone marketplace, it is possible the Windows Phone market share would get an increase that is much needed at this point.
