Apple has rolled out the iOS 6.1.2 update to fix a number of bugs related to the performance of the operating system in devices like iPhones, iPads, and iPods. And, we have given a time of good two days for the reality check of the latest update's performance.
It looks like, Apple has delivered what it promised, and to be précis it delivered only what it promised.
"Fixes an Exchange calendar bug that could result in increased network activity and reduced battery life," Apple stated while releasing the iOS 6.1.2 update.
As time went by, we observed that iOS 6.1.2 is capable of fixing the battery issues that occur because of the Exchange calendar bug. The other battery related issues were not addressed by the Cupertino-based company in its latest iOS update.
Apple's support forum doesn't have any heated discussions related to Exchange server issue running after the release of iOS 6.1.2. But there are many thread created for the issues related to battery performance in the devices running on iOS 6.1.2.
Though there are one thread each created for issues related to Exchange synch and Wi-Fi, the responses are quite low and completely negative, which shows that iOS 6.1.2 is quite successful in fixing Exchange and Wi-Fi bugs.
However, when it comes to battery drain, the situation is completely different. Number of threads and comments related to battery issue in iOS 6.1.2 is quite high.
"iOS update 6.1.2 only addresses the push error with exchange mail servers constantly pushing information which drained the battery life of a device," a user posted on a thread "Does ios 6.1.2 fix the charging issue?"
"Yes, a lot of folks seem to have this issue... it is really annoying. I have an iPhone 4S, upgraded to IOS 6.1.2, and the battery is draining like crazy... read many blogs and forums, called up people, and I was told that there is no solution but to wait for Apple to release a new update!!! Apple this is really annoying and disappointing. Please fix urgently," another users posted under another thread.
As far as passcode bug is concerned, neither Apple mentioned it in the release statement of iOS 6.1.2 nor any of the users have come up so far bringing this issue in the support forum.
