It's quite shocking but that is what the trustworthy Samsung-rumor source Sam Mobile has to say. Samsung is reportedly ditching the Exynos processor and AMOLED display to Snapdragon 600 processor and full HD SoLux Display for its most-awaited Galaxy S4 smartphone.
"Today we can confirm Samsung will use the Snapdragon 600 and it is clocked at 1.9 Ghz which is 0.2 Ghz higher than the HTC One," Sam Mobile reports. Citing an unnamed insider, the report said the smartphone will have 2 GB of RAM and will come in three variants such as 16, 32 and 64 GB.
A recent report had it that the Galaxy S4 release is being delayed as the company is yet to sort out issues regarding the Exynos 5 Octa processor. It was then speculated that Samsung might look at Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs for its upcoming Galaxy S4. As we had reported earlier, the decision to not introduce Exynos 5 Octa or other ARM Cortex-A15 Exynos chips maybe due to the fact that it could prove a bit difficult for the company to come to terms with thermal envelope and power consumption when placed into a handset.
Galaxy S4 will use a Full HD display and the folks at Sam Mobile are yet to confirm if this is based on LCD3 like the HTC One. According to the source, the dimensions of the device will be 140.1 x 71.8 x 7.7mm and the weight is 138 gram. The flagship Samsung product will use a home button and will have touch buttons.
The leaked image does indicate that the company has dropped the Galaxy S3 design line, rather the design will be square formed again. The source further said the borders are made from aluminum, but the back of the device is still plastic suggesting the device will have a removable battery.
A couple of leaked images reportedly taken by Galaxy S4 have once again confirmed that Samsung includes a 13-megapixel camera in the smartphone.
Here is the final list of specifications at this point in time as listed out by Sam Mobile.
