When Sony launched its latest smartphones under the Xperia series at this year's International CES, the Sony Xperia Z grabbed most of the headlines because of being a waterproof device. But, Sony offered one more nice combination of hardware - Sony Xperia ZL.
The Sony Xperia ZL is now spotted on Sony's U.S. online store with a tag 'coming soon' that indicates towards a release of the smartphone somewhere around the release of Xperia Z.
Although no official date has been announced for the release of both the phones, analysts assume that the devices might be making a way into the U.S. market somewhere later this month or early next month.
With the Xperia ZL appearing on the website, one rumor about the device gets confirmed and that is the color of the phone.
At the time of its launch at the CES in January, rumors had it that the smartphone will be coming in three colors. Some reports suggested that apart from the usual white and black color variants, Sony will launch the Xperia ZL in red color also, and the color has become official now.
The Xperia ZL will be available in three colors (white, black and red) with model number XZLC6506RD.
The model is going to be an LTE compatible device running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. With the 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor and 2 GB of RAM packed inside, the device looks quite powerful.
The image capturing hardware too looks quite sturdy as the phone sports a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera with some amazing features. It also has a 2 megapixel front-facing camera with Sony's Exmor RSTM for mobile that introduces HDR video on Xperia ZL.
The Sony Xperia ZL with the model number C6506 has also appeared on Sony's PC Companion and Sony Update Service (SUS). Although there are three models of the smartphone, two LTE version and one HSPA+ version, there is only one version listed at all the three places - Sony Stores, PC Companion and SUS.
Sony has already announced the realesed date of the Xperia ZL for Russia, Geramany and Canada.
