The elusive Nokia Lumia 928 is real, and it is coming to a Verizon Wireless store near you sooner than you think. The device has been the focus of Nokia rumors for awhile, but now it is official. So what should we be expecting next?
The official announcement came from Engadget after the gadget blog got its hands on print material with the Lumia 928 as the main attraction. In that magazine, one could see the Verizon logo, solid proof that this device will be exclusive to the carrier, but for how long is still up in the air. Furthermore, this is the second major advertisement leak of the Lumia 928: the first leak had us looking at the device on a billboard somewhere in the U.S.
The magazine seems to focus on the camera: the availability of a Carl Zeiss camera lens onboard, Optical Image Stabilization, PureView technology and low-light imagery. Nothing was said about the internal specifications of the device, but we expect it to be very similar to the Lumia 920 in more ways than one. Consider this phone as an upgraded Lumia 920 and nothing more, or you might be disappointed.
Not long after Engadget released the advertised image of the Lumia 928, Nokia made the phone official when it formulated a link that directs you to a section of its website where the Lumia 928 is right there. It is clear Nokia will be focusing on the camera capabilities when the device is officially announced at the May 14 event.
Nokia's event could also see the announcement of the Lumia 925, otherwise known as the Catwalk, along with the Nokia EOS and a Windows 8/RT tablet.
