Oppo is apparently busy working on a Find 7 smartphone with Snapdragon 800 on board, which would launch as the successor to the Oppo Find 5.
The likes of Samsung, Apple, HTC, Sony and others enjoy wild popularity, while some people never even heard of Oppo. For connoisseurs, however, Oppo may be something to dream about when it comes to high-end smartphones.
The Oppo Find 5 launched as the first Android smartphone to boast a 5-inch Full HD (1080p) display, as the company boasts on its product page for the device. The handset has impressive specs and features all around, not to mention that it comes unlocked and for an affordable price considering what it has to offer.
According to a new GSM Arena report, Oppo is now working on a new smartphone powerhouse to succeed the Oppo Find 5. The upcoming flagship will reportedly be called Oppo Find 7, but despite its name it will retain the same 5-inch 1080p display, not 7-inch.
The big changes, however, occur under the hood. The upcoming Oppo smartphone will reportedly rock the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with four Krait 400 cores blazing at 2.3GHz. In terms of camera, the Oppo Find 7 will keep the same 13-megapixel rear-facing shooter as its Find 5 predecessor, but will boost the front camera to a whopping 8 megapixels. For a front camera, that's huge. The battery gets a bump as well compared to the Oppo Find 5. The new smartphone will pack a 4,000 mAh battery, significantly more powerful than the 2,500 mAh one of its predecessors. This will add one millimeter in thickness to a total of 9.9mm.
The Oppo Find 7 will reportedly run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, probably sporting some customizations just like the Oppo Find 5. In terms of storage, the Oppo Find 5 came in 16 GB and 32GB configurations, but the upcoming Find 7 will apparently have a fixed 32GB internal storage capacity. The report also offers some details on pricing and launch date, with the smartphone reportedly coming at around $700 sometime after September. The price tag may seem quite steep considering that an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S4 goes up to $630, but there's one big difference: the Oppo Find 7 will reportedly pack the Snapdragon 800 chipset, while the Galaxy S4 runs on Snapdragon 600.
