The upcoming Google Nexus 5 smartphone is the talk of the town and a new leak shows that UK retailer Carphone Warehouse already has the handset in stock.
Google has not officially announced plans to launch its next-generation Nexus smartphone, but that has never stopped the rumor mill from churning. After numerous reports, leaks and speculation, a new image shows what is reportedly a screenshot of Carphone Warehouse's inventory.
The purported handset appeared in an inventory listing showing 1,500 units of the white Nexus 5 and 1,500 units of the black model are reportedly due as well. The newly-leaked image comes from Android Police. The white version of the Nexus 5 has already leaked recently, when trusted tipster @evleaks posted an image of it on Twitter.
The interface shown in the screenshot does seem to be from Carphone Warehouse, but there's always a possibility that such leaks are fake. As always with leaks and rumors, it is advisable to take things a healthy dose of skepticism.
The new smartphone from LG and Google, dubbed the Nexus 5, is expected to make its debut very soon. Rumored launch dates include Oct. 31 or Nov. 1. Either way, it's just a few days away.
The Google Nexus 5 reportedly sports a 4.95-inch display with full HD 1080p resolution, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and the upcoming Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. Other purported specs include an 8-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and 16GB/32GB internal storage configurations.
The smartphone is speculated to come with a $349 starting price. If the rumored price and specs prove to be correct, the Google Nexus 5 will surely rock the smartphone world by launching as one of the most affordable Android handsets with top-notch specifications.
With the expected launch just around the corner, be it Oct. 31 or Nov. 1, we should be hearing some official details very soon regarding both the Nexus 5 and the new Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
