Verizon Wireless has apparently got into the holiday spirit already, as the carrier is now offering the Samsung Galaxy S3 for free.
There are, however, two caveats. First of all, the offer only stands for interested buyers who are willing to sign a new two-year contract with Verizon. Second, this is a limited-time deal, set to expire on Nov. 11.
In other words, if this offer sounds good and you would like to get a Samsung Galaxy S3 from Verizon for $0 down on a two-year contract, you might want to act quickly.
The Galaxy S3 is Samsung's flagship smartphone from last year and has enjoyed great popularity. It may no longer be the latest flagship with the Galaxy S4 now out and about, but it's still a powerful smartphone with plenty to offer.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with high-end specs and features and, if you don't necessarily have to have the latest flagship, it mayprove to be a worthy choice. The handset sports a large 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera with zero shutter lag and LED flash, as well as a 1.9-megapixel front-facing shooter. The smartphone comes with 16GB of internal storage capacity and a micro SD card slot for additional memory of up to 64GB.
One drawback, meanwhile, may be the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is still running on the older Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system. Samsung has started to roll out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean over the air (OTA) to the GT-I9300 model of the smartphone, but Verizon has a habit of being late with updates for its versions of devices.
Verizon's five-day sale, which ends on Nov. 11, also has some other offerings. If the Galaxy S3 is not what you're looking for, other options part of this deal might seem more interesting. The Verizon LG G2, for instance, is not $49.99 (down from $149.99), while the 8GB Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is now $249.99 (down from $449.99). All of these five-day offers are available with a new two-year contract.
