The 16GB version of the new Google Nexus 5 is now back in stock at the Google Play store, with shipping listed as 3-4 weeks.
Google just recently launched its Nexus 5 smartphone made in collaboration with LG. The Nexus 5 was one of the most highly-anticipated smartphones of this year, as it boasts high-end specs and features, it ships with the latest Android 4.4 Jelly Bean out of the box and has an affordable price tag unlocked.
Last year's Nexus 4 put both Google and LG in a really tough spot, as the companies had serious issues in keeping up with demand. The Nexus 4 was mostly out of stock, as new batches would fly off the shelves in no time. Consumers expected Google to have learned from last year's Nexus 4 supply issues and avoid facing the same situation with this year's Nexus 5, but it remains to be seen whether the company will manage to keep up with demand.
The 16GB version of the new Nexus 5 had officially gone out of stock in record time at the Google Play store. At the time, Google did not offer an exact date for when the handset would become available again, only encouraging customers to check back soon.
It now looks that the 16GB Nexus 5 has made its way back into the Play Store and is again available for order, at least for now. Google lists the handset as shipping in 3-4 weeks from its warehouse, so having it back in stock doesn't mean the wait is over, but it does mean that you can now place your order.
Considering that it's a high-end smartphone rocking the latest stock version of Android 4.4 KitKat and sporting a rather low price tag off-contract, it's not much of a surprise that it sold out in no time. Unlike the Nexus 4 supply issues last year, however, Google seems to be more prepared this time around. The company didn't take very long to replenish stock and orders of the Nexus 5 seem to be going smoothly so far.
Still, if you want to get the 16GB Nexus 5 from the Google Play store, you might want to act quickly and place your order before it goes out of stock again.
