The HTC One Max will soon be available in a new color option, as the company has added a black model of the phablet.
As the phablet market is a growing trend, HTC jumped onboard and launched its own take at the supersized-smartphone concept. The HTC One Max maintains the same elegant aluminum unibody case that garnered such high praise for the flagship HTC One, but is notably bigger.
The massive HTC One Max is the company's first phablet and, in addition to several features borrowed from the HTC One, it also introduces a fingerprint scanner for extra security. HTC launched its One Max device with only one color option available - white, but a new color is en route.
According to HTC Hong Kong's official website, a new back version of the HTC One Max is ready to spice things up. Other than the color, the HTC One Max remains unchanged in terms of design, specs, features or performance.
For those unfamiliar with the handset, the HTC One Max boasts a huge 5.9-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, and features 2GB of RAM. The phablet comes with 32GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot for additional memory, as well as 50GB of free Google Drive storage.
Other specs include HTC's UltraPixel camera on the back of the device and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter. The rear camera can record full HD video. The HTC One Max also supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with Bluetooth LE, NFC, and GPS. On the software side, the phablet ships with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and a new HTC Sense 5.5.
HTC has yet to provide an exact launch date for the black version of its HTC One Max phablet. It also remains unclear at this point which markets will get to see this variant. The company does, however, offer the option to sign up and get more updates when they become available. We'll stay on top of it and keep you up to date as soon as HTC provides more details regarding the availability of the black HTC One Max.
