The international version of the LG G2 seems ready to receive an update to the latest Android 4.4 KitKat shortly.
LG started to roll out the latest version of Android for its LG G2 in its home country last month. At the time, the company mentioned that the international model of the handset should get the same Android 4.4 KitKat update in the following two months, potentially towards the end of the first quarter of 2014.
Owners of the international LG G2 model may be in for some good news, as the Android 4.4 KitKat update seems ready to start rolling out. According to a tweet from LG Mobile Saudi Arabia, the update will roll out by the end of January in the country.
"Good news for owners of #جي2 in Saudi Arabia You can copy the system updated to version Kit Kat at the end of this month January," reads a rough translation of the tweet, which was first spotted by GSM Arena.
While there's no official word yet on when the update for the international LG G2 will start rolling out in other parts of the world, the imminent rollout in Saudi Arabia suggests that LG should deploy Android 4.4 KitKat to its G2 flagship globally soon enough.
Several previous rumors already indicated that the LG G2 will get an update to the latest Android 4.4 KitKat in various parts of the world by the end of the first quarter, and the upcoming rollout in Saudi Arabia means that it's ready to start.
Android 4.4 KitKat will bring several new features and improvements over the previous Android version, and is expected to notably enhance the user experience. The changes mostly focus on performance, but there are also some slight tweaks in the settings menu and the status bar icons.
LG has yet to detail when it will start rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat update to its LG G2 in other parts of the world, but we'll make sure to keep you up to date as soon as we hear more about the update rollout in other countries.
