New Faster Browser To Be Launched By Ex-Mozilla CEO

A new browser might be making the rounds online anytime soon as it is revealed that Mozilla ex-CEO Brendan Eich has released a test browser from his startup company. Eich is a notable web pioneer who is known to be a key figure behind Firefox, who has left the company in 2014 amidst controversies.

Eich is known to be the inventor of the JavaScript language, which is the foundation of the Web programming and even co-founded the Mozilla project that has built the now famous Firefox browser. Now he is known to have founded the San Francisco-based startup Brave Software.

Brave Software, Eich's startup company, has released the Brave browser test version this Wednesday. The browser, according to the ten-person startup, will be running faster than any existing browser and will also provide users the experience of using a browser without the annoyance of dealing with ads.

It works on most computers that are running the Windows operating system of Microsoft and Apple's OS X. The brave browser is also expected to run on smartphone devices that are running Google's Android or Apple's iOS.

One of the goals that the browser is hoping to solve according to the ex-Mozilla executive is to rid the world of the harmful effects that online advertising brings the user. Aside from privacy protection, the brave browser also comes with a big speed boost. Imagine having a browser that loads pages 2x to 4x more than most smartphone browsers and 1.4x faster than most web browsers.

The challenge here now is on how Eich and his team will market their browser and convince loyal users to switch to their browser. The company also needs to convince publishers to support their browser in order to keep it working. If the San Francisco-based company does manage to do so, the public might be seeing a future of browsers having better protection on privacy and the end to the stress of using ad blockers.
