HTC One 2014 poses in comparison shots, while certification listing details specs
Alexandra BurlacuThe HTC One successor, dubbed the "All New HTC One," has again leaked in some new images and a certification listing ahead of its big debut on March 25.
The All New HTC One, also referred to as the HTC One 2014 or the HTC M8, is among the worst-kept secrets ever. The smartphone has leaked extensively so far and it continues to pop up online, with the latest leaks showing new photos of the handset, as well as its key specifications detailed in a TENAA listing.
TENAA is a Chinese wireless certification body, and the listing in question details the "HTC M8t" with a 5-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with full HD (1920 x 1080p) resolution, a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.26GHz, and 2GB of RAM. The listing further shows the handset will run Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box and will be 4G LTE-enabled.
One of the most rumored features of the HTC One successor is the twin camera system on its rear. The TENAA listing shows the HTC M8t with a 16-megapixel rear shooter. Recent reports have suggested that the handset will boast upper and lower rear cameras of 4 megapixels and 16 megapixels, respectively. HTC is also expected to continue using its "UltraPixel" technology for the rear camera, but add the same technology to the same shooter as well.
The listing further claims that the HTC M8t will have expandable storage of up to 64GB, but no internal storage capacity, which is a bit odd. The handset will reportedly be available in four color options: black, silver, red, and gold.
The other leaked images, meanwhile, come from French publication Nowhereelse, and show the purported HTC One 2014 from various angles, including in comparison shots next to other flagship handsets. The All New HTC One poses for the camera alongside Apple's iPhone 5S, the LG G2, the Samsung Galaxy S4, the Sony Xperia Z1, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, as you can see in the image above.
Nowhereelse seems to be contradicting the TENAA listing in one aspect, claiming that the HTC One successor will come in three storage configurations - 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB.
None of this is official at this point, but the HTC One 2014, or whatever it will be called, will make its debut soon enough. HTC has already confirmed that it will unveil its new flagship smartphone on March 25, so we'll soon know all about it straight from the source.
