Nokia Lumia 530 Windows Phone 8.1 budget smartphone leaks in clearest images
Alexandra BurlacuThe Nokia Lumia 530 Windows Phone smartphone has leaked yet again, giving the world a better look at what the handset will look like.
The smartphone has surfaced on several occasions in the past and leaks have intensified over the past week, suggesting that the Lumia 530 may be ready to hit the market soon.
The latest images shared by WMPoweruser surfaced in China, and allegedly show both the front and rear panels of the upcoming Nokia Lumia 530. The new leak seems to fall in line with previous ones, showing a colorful, but quite bulky device. The smartphone shown in these photos has a bright orange case and seems rather minimalistic in design.
The intriguing part is the lack of "Nokia by Microsoft" branding, which will reportedly grace all future Lumia phones, as Microsoft completed the acquisition of Nokia's device unit. Otherwise, the Lumia 530 seems to continue the latest trend of sporting on-screen buttons and indicates that it will launch as an entry-level offering, considering that it has no flash for the rear camera.
The Nokia Lumia 520 has proved to be the most popular Windows Phone device despite its lack of high-end specifications, as it brought decent performance on a budget. The Nokia Lumia 530 is expected to follow in its footsteps and arrive as a budget-friendly handset as well, with decent specifications but nothing high-end (except for the latest OS).
Multiple versions of the purported Nokia Lumia 530 have been spotted recently, carrying model numbers RM-1027, RM-1020 and RM-1018, with the latter two reportedly designated for the dual- and single-SIM versions of the handset, respectively.
When it comes to specifications, rumors so far have suggested that the Nokia Lumia 530 would sport a 4.3-inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM, and dual cameras, with no mention of resolution. The smartphone is expected to rock the latest Windows Phone 8.1 operating system with all its neat features, including Microsoft's new Cortana digital assistant.
Consequently, the Nokia Lumia 530 will likely not boast any great upgrades over its predecessor, but it could launch as the cheapest Windows Phone 8.1 device. As for availability, the smartphone is reportedly headed to T-Mobile in the U.S., but nothing is confirmed at this point.
