HTC One M8 Android 5.0 Lollipop may roll out in 1-2 weeks
Alexandra BurlacuThe HTC One M8 may finally get Android 5.0 Lollipop, as a new tip claims the update will start rolling out in one or two weeks.
HTC's latest flagship, the HTC One M8, was widely considered one of the best smartphones of 2014 and it continues to see great success. The handset boasts high-end specs and features all around, as well as a premium design with a stylish metal unibody, enjoying great popularity among consumers.
HTC One M8 owners who have been patiently waiting to get the latest software treat may be in for some good news, as the smartphone may finally be ready to receive Android 5.0 Lollipop soon.
More specifically, developer and tipster LlabTooFeR has revealed that Android 5.0 Lollipop will start rolling out to the HTC One M8 in a week or two. HTC has yet to confirm such plans, but LlabTooFeR has a great track record when it comes to providing accurate information about HTC's plans. This is no guarantee that this information is accurate as well, but it does add more credibility to the claim.
Large update rollouts such as this one typically occur in stages, and the Android 5.0 Lollipop rollout to the HTC One M8 is expected to be gradual. The update should bring notable improvements to the smartphone, enhancing the overall functionality and maximizing its performance.
The HTC Sense UI is expected to remain mainly unchanged, but Android 5.0 has plenty of neat tricks to bring to the table. In addition to a cleaner look overall and Google's much-touted Material Design, Android 5.0 will improve battery efficiency and add several optimizations to make everything work better and faster.
If LlabTooFeR proves to be accurate this time as well, the HTC One M8 should start receiving the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop in one or two weeks. Without any official confirmation from HTC, however, it all remains in the rumor state at this point. As always in such cases, it is highly advisable to take this news with a grain of salt. We'll make sure to keep you up to date as soon as more information becomes available, so stay tuned.
