BlackBerry Classic now available in the UK from Carphone Warehouse
Alexandra BurlacuBlackBerry Classic fans in the UK are in for some good news, as the smartphone is now available and ready to ship from Carphone Warehouse.
In recent years, BlackBerry has been losing increasingly more ground to rivals on the smartphone market, but the company has nonetheless been determined to make a comeback.
With its latest BlackBerry Classic smartphone, the Canadian company got back to its roots and returned to its iconic QWERTY design that consecrated it. The BlackBerry Classic launched a while back and it is already available in several markets across the world, and Carphone Warehouse now adds the UK on the list.
The retailer is selling the BlackBerry Classic for £329.99 SIM-free, i.e. roughly the same price of the unlocked model in the U.S. Those who prefer to purchase the device subsidized, meanwhile, can choose from plans starting at £26.50 per month.
As a reminder, the BlackBerry Classic sports a full-fledged QWERTY keyboard, a trackpad, as well as a touch-enabled display. In terms of design, the new smartphone look like a successor to the popular BlackBerry Bold 9900.
When it comes to specifications, the new BlackBerry Classic features a 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 720 pixels and packs a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor under the hood, clocked at 1.5GHz and paired with 2GB of RAM. Other specs include 16GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot for additional memory, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front shooter. The smartphone comes with a 2,515 battery to keep things up and running and BlackBerry OS 10.3.1 on the software side.
The BlackBerry Classic stirred plenty of interest since its official debut and is shaping up to be a strong seller for the company, unlike more recent BlackBerry handsets. The design is believed to be the key factor in the BlackBerry Classic's popularity, as BlackBerry fans have repeatedly requested a return to the iconic QWERTY design they knew and loved.
If you're in the UK and would like to learn more about the BlackBerry Classic or place your order for the handset, head over to the product page on Carphone Warehouse's website at this link. To further sweeten the deal, the retailer is also throwing in free shipping with next day delivery.
