If latest reports are to be believed, BlackBerry has yet another surprise apart from the BlackBerry Mercury unveiling. BlackBerry has already stated that it would disclose a lot about the Mercury device. Now, a leak has revealed another BlackBerry phone that seems like a budget-friendly device with lower specs than people will expect from a BlackBerry device. It has been shown to have a 720p resolution and a 5.5-inch display. The device codenamed BBC100-1 will also feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, 4GB RAM and 32GB storage.

According to Tech Radar, this little used processor was previously seen in Xiaomi Redmi 4A. The BlackBerry budget-friendly phone will have dual-SIM support, 13MP rear camera, 8MP selfie camera and a 3,000 mAh battery. Experts believed that this smartphone will also be launched at the Mobile World Congress 2017 along with the BlackBerry Mercury. The leaked BlackBerry phone could be the first project from the joint BB Merah Putih venture, which is basically a software licensing strategy, bringing various Indonesian companies to work on new software and services.

BlackBerry Mercury also brings back the physical keyboard of BlackBerry Classic. It is said to sport a premium look and design. Some rumors have claimed that the handset will have a touch-sensitive keypad. It may also have a glossy finish for a glass-like appearance. The BlackBerry Mercury may have a fingerprint scanner incorporated into the space bar. Certain conventional BlackBerry apps will also be incorporated. The device is said to cater to business and professional users.

As is evident, BlackBerry is looking to make a comeback by showcasing these devices at the MWC 2017. A recently activated BlackBerry Mobile Twitter account shows a photo that shows a BlackBerry device and claims to be "Distinctly Different." It is widely believed to be the BlackBerry Mercury.
