Security software solutions provider McAfee has released its second-generation Mobile Security suite for Android and BlackBerry smartphones and tablets.

The $29.99 subscription-based software works with Google Android OS 2.1–4.0, BlackBerry 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, and S60 3rd and 5th Edition, as well as Symbian ^3.

It is also compatible with Intel-based Android devices.

According to McAfee, the software not only protects the device against adwares, spywares and malwares but also it warns the user of suspicious app behavior via "App Alert."

It also features anti-theft tools such as remote locate, lockdown, backup, and wipe features that can be controlled over McAfee's Web portal. In fact, the anti-theft features are so powerful that an unathorized user will also be prevented from removing the McAfee app.

Mobile Security 2.0 can also:

> Easily filter out spammers, incorrect numbers, and unwanted acquaintances
> Block potential phishing sites, browser exploits, malicious links within text messages, email, social networking sites, and QR codes
> Scan and clean malicious code from files, memory cards, applications, Internet downloads, text messages, and attachments.
