The Samsung Galaxy S4, its predecessor the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 are all slated to get an Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update by year-end.
With Android 4.4 KitKat already announced and likely rolling out soon, the current Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update should reach as many devices as possible to keep customers satisfied. Only a handful of devices currently rock the latest Android 4.3, but things should change pretty soon.
According to a new report from SamMobile, Samsung is planning to splash the Android 4.3 update on its top-of-the-line Galaxy smartphones soon enough. The publication mentions that the company's latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4, would likely be the first to get the update in October.
Last year's flagship, the Galaxy S3, would be next to get Android 4.3 in October or even November, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phablet should get the same treatment by the end of November or early December.
Even with the new Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 out and about, it seems that Samsung did not forget about these devices' predecessors. All three smartphones (Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2) are also expected to get a revamped TouchWiz interface with some added functions, in addition to the new Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
The report further claims that Samsung is testing the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for its Galaxy Mega phablets as well. The publication has not offered any details regarding the exclusive features one should expect from the update for the Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 2.
The recently-launched Samsung Galaxy Note 3, however, already rocks Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box, which could give us a few hints of what to expect in terms of new features and functionality.
Samsung, on its part, has already said that it plans to deploy Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for its top Galaxy smartphones, including the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S3, but so far the company has not offered any release dates for the update.
Until the company officially confirms the dates for the Android 4.3 update for the aforementioned devices, it is advisable to take things with a dose of skepticism. The only thing that's for sure is that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is coming, but it remains to be seen just when it will arrive.
