U.S. Elections 2016: Hilary Clinton States That Bernie Sanders Must 'Endorse' Her

Eve Cesista

The frontrunner for the Democratic Party, Hilary Clinton had a guest appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show last Tuesday. The interview was focused on her insight about her nomination and about another presidential nominee, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Bustle notes that Sanders is determined to be the frontrunner for the Presidential elections and he is reportedly doing his best to outwit his opponent. Sanders said that the Democratic Convention and the final casting of the ballots in Washington D.C. on Monday might be "messy."

More than that, the Vermont Senator allegedly said, in desperation, that Clinton is"unqualified" for the position. But the female candidate openly told Ellen that she believes Sanders will give way to her and endorse her instead.

"I think he has to do what he chooses to do. I understand that. I ran all the way to the end against then-senator Obama, and when it was over - because we had a much closer race than the one currently between Senator Sanders and myself - I withdrew," she said. "I endorsed him, and worked really hard to elect him, and I do believe that Bernie will do that."

Clinton worked with Obama as one of the cabinet members, and the website stated that their work relationship was not always smooth sailing. However, as compared to her competition with Sanders, her rivalry with the now-president did not include "throwing shade at one another."

The aspiring president had a neck to neck battle with Obama in the 2008 elections but she dropped out and fully endorsed the latter. Hence, Obama won and became the "first black president."

But even though Hilary Clinton is hopeful that Bernie Sanders would step down and endorse her, that website wrote that "it might just be another wishful thinking." Months ago, Huffington Post reported that the Clinton-Sanders race is much closer than what people think.

June 7 is approaching and people are quite a mix of anxious and excited about the outcome of the U.S. presidential election. On the other hand, there is Donald Trump, who is consistent in bringing himself to the headlines.
