PS4 vs Xbox One: Which Console Should One Buy Before The Xbox 2, PS Neo Release?

Among those who would like to own a set of gaming console, which could be a better choice: the PS4 or the Xbox One?

As many would comment that it depends on the gamer's reference, the following comparison might give you a clearer hint on which between the two could be a better deal.

Specifications

While both the PS4 and Xbox One models are considered to be the latest to come out in their respective line, it can be noted that the former runs on 1.6GHz AMD 8-core CPU, while the latter uses a custom 1.75GHz AMD 8-core CPU.

The Controllers They Use

It may appear that the Xbox One controller is wider than the PS4's, but actually, both offer the same comfort when used. Therefore, it takes to try both first before one can decide which of the two is more comfortable.

Camera

In terms of camera, the PS4 uses the PS4 Camera (formerly the PlayStation Eye), while the Xbox One has the so-called Kinect.

With the use of the gaming consoles' camera, one can play certain games especially those that need constant body movements like sports games. However, it is worth noting that the list of titles playable on Xbox One is longer when compared to PS4's (but there is not much to play as well).

The Games They Play

Both consoles from Sony and Microsoft boast of hundreds of titles that it can play. However, how many of these games are exclusives?

Based on several reports, the PS4 unit has less than 600 games, around 30 of which are exclusives (down from the total of 80 exclusive titles). Meanwhile, the Xbox One has a little over 600 total number of games but only 14 are exclusives.

Among the top exclusives in PS4 are "Uncharted 4," "The Last of Us," and "Ratchet and Clank." As for the Xbox One, "Titanfall" and "Halo 5" are among the most popular exclusive titles.

Price

Amid the fact that the PS4's introductory price last year was lower at $399 compared to Xbox One's $499, the current prevailing price of the latter is already $50 lower. Quite a steal? Yes.
