The recent "Nashville" season 5 spoilers have suggested that the musical series might not be that exciting anymore because a certain character is no longer returning.

While it is no longer new that the television drama series gets to lose some characters, the absence of this particular person might take a blow on the entire show's season 4 run.

How could this be possible? Who is this character, in the first place?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aubrey Peeples, who portrays the role of Layla Grant, is not coming back anymore for "Nashville" season 5.

Following this report, the entertainment site took note of possible disadvantages that Layla's rumored departure from the show will impact.

With her complexity, she surely has brought fans wonder about the things that would happen to her next. And as a villainess, avid followers of the series can no longer have the chance to know about her future, especially with the stardom she gained in the fourth season.

This tenet drew to the next observation. The online publication pointed out that her story is still open-ended. Therefore, it is but fitting for CMT to at least give a storyline that will put closure to the life of Layla in "Nashville" season 5.

In the meantime, it can be recalled that in its previous report, The Hollywood Reporter shared that ABC, the former home of the series, ended "Nashville" season 4 finale with a "monumental cliffhanger."

At the fourth season's finale, the aircraft which carried Hayden Panettiere's Juliette Barnes suddenly got lost in the air.

Is she still alive? Did the plane crash?

These are the questions that fans are anticipating to get answers in the upcoming fifth season which will feature 22 episodes.
