There is a chance that Xbox One owners in Japan would not get their hands on the much-awaited RPG "Kingdom Hearts 3."
Twitter page KH Insider has reported two days ago, Aug. 30, that the Xbox listing of Square Enix's "Kingdom Hearts 3" was taken down from the site for some unknown reason. This news originated from Japanese Twitter user @bKvEBVAvUq, as evidenced by this post.
The user pointed out that the listing was previously live on the Xbox page, as shown on this archived webpage. Now, when the main link is clicked, a message pops out stating that the page cannot be found.
The news has bred speculations that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will not make it to Xbox One consoles in Japan, which is not totally surprising, given the Xbox's One's poor sales in the Land of the Rising Sun, according to VGChartz.
Sony and Nintendo still dominate the console market in Japan, with the Nintendo 3DS and Playstation 4 overtaking Xbox One sales by leaps and bounds. Even the Wii U is more popular in Japan than Microsoft's console.
Xbox One owners in North America need not worry, however, as Microsoft still has "Kingdom Hearts 3" listed on the Microsoft Store, and is still available for pre-order.
Despite the cancellation rumor, there may also be a possibility that the page was just taken down due to either a glitch or a site update.
It is helpful to note that the "Scalebound" page on the Xbox One JP site is also showing as invalid. Following the same reasoning of cancellation as "Kingdom Hearts 3" is virtually impossible, as the game is an Xbox One-exclusive.
"Kingdom Hearts 3" will be a no-show at Square Enix's Tokyo Game Show lineup this year, so fans should not expect any announcements on whether the Xbox One version is cancelled in Japan or not soon.
Stay tuned for more "Kingdom Hearts 3" updates.
