The latest news on the Galaxy Core Prime device reported that it exploded on a 6-year-old's hands, leaving injuries on his body. However, there are no details about the possible cause of the explosion.

The news is stated to be confirmed by the child's mother, who said that the smartphone blasted when the kid was watching videos on it. The most important question right now is whether to buy the Galaxy Core Prime or not. Should you choose to buy the Samsung phone, you can decide on the basis of the overview provided in this report stating all of its specs and features.

To start with, the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime is touted to be a budget-friendly smartphone with an all-plastic chassis and metal and glass outer ring at the top and the bottom. In terms of display, the smartphone sports a 4.5-inch screen with a 480 x 800 pixels resolution display panel.

When it comes to performance-related specs, the Galaxy Core Prime consists of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset along with quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and Adreno 306 GPU. It also sports a 1 GB RAM and 8 GB of internal storage expandable up to 64 GB via micro SD card slot.

Furthermore, the device features a 5-megapixel rear and a 2-megapixel front camera with additional specs like autofocus and LED flash. The Samsung phone sports a standard 2000 mAh battery, which provides talk time up to 13 hours and video playback time up to 10 hours.

In terms of software specs, the Galaxy Core Prime consists of an Android KitKat 4.4.4 operating system, which is upgradable to Lollipop v5.1.1.
