After acquiring Kevin Durant, the latest NBA trade rumors hinted that the Golden State Warriors might now sign up another free agent, Josh Smith. Reports claimed that the Warriors are looking out for a player to fill their last remaining spot on the roster, and Smith is expected to be the one to help them achieve their goal.

Chatt Sports Net reported that bringing in Smith will help the Golden State Warriors fill in the void created by Harrison Barnes' departure to the Dallas Mavericks. It is expected that Smith will be teamed up with small forward Kevin Durant and point guard Stephen Curry in order to aid the team to win a number of matches in the new NBA season.

Trade rumors suggested that Smith will provide the Warriors with excellent on-court offensive and defensive skills, which will help the team to provide tough competition to other teams in the NBA league. It is stated that the thirty-year-old player has the ability to efficiently shoot three-pointers, rebound and block shots.

Moreover, Game N Guide reported that Smith will also prove as a strong substitute for the Warriors' power forward Draymond Green.

On the other hand, reports claimed that even Smith might choose to join the Golden State Warriors team as he will receive an opportunity to play for the team, which is considered to be the top contender to win this year's NBA league title.

Earlier, Smith has played for the Houston Rockets before becoming a free agent in the last offseason. Also, he was associated with the Atlanta Hawks beforehand.

As far as Smith signing a new deal is concerned, the Golden State Warriors have not provided any official word on the rumored trade as of now.
