The latest NBA trade rumors suggested that the San Antonio Spurs might ink a deal with the Toronto Raptors next summer to bring in the Raptors' point guard Kyle Lowry.

Reports claimed the 30-year-old player recently expressed his interest to join the San Antonio Spurs after he hits the free agency next summer.

"I think it should be a situation where a guy shouldn't have to talk to another team," Lowry told The Vertical, as reported by Yahoo Sports. "DeMar didn't have the chance to talk to another team. For me, I think that at 12:01 a.m. on July 1 something should be close. If not, I'm open to seeing what else is out there."

Earlier, Lowry will reportedly remain with the Raptors and team up with big man DeMar DeRozan. However, the point guard is rumored to opt to go for the free agency next year.

This is touted to have prompted the San Antonio Spurs to bank in on the opportunity and try to lure Lowry to join their team. Morning News USA reported that the Spurs are thinking of replacing their point guard Tony Parker, as they want to have young players on their roster.

According to the NBA trade rumors, Lowry is expected to be the impeccable fit to fill in the void created by Parker's departure next summer. Fansided reported that Lowry will provide the Spurs with his excellent defensive skills and systematic game style, which will help them to jump high in the NBA league.

Also, Lowry has averaged 21.2 points, 6.4 assists, and 4.7 rebounds last season, which is expected to help the Spurs put up high scores on the board. On the other hand, it is reported that the San Antonio Spurs will provide Lowry with the apt platform to be with a franchise that has high potential to win many championships in the years to come.

However, there is still no official word on the rumored trade scenario as yet. Keep posted here for more updates and NBA trade rumors on Kyle Lowry.
