The Sony Xperia XZ and the OnePlus 3 are smartphones launched in 2016. Coming from big brands, both handsets feature decent specifications. But which is the better model?

When it comes to design, the OnePlus 3 is taller, slimmer, and wider compared to the Sony Xperia XZ. Still, the Xperia phone is slightly denser than the OnePlus 3 model, according to NDTV Gadgets, while the OnePlus model has a slightly larger display.

From a processor perspective, the Xperia XZ makes use of Quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 whereas OnePlus 3 is powered by 1.6 GHz Quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. The OnePlus 3 has better CPU speed than the Sony Xperia XZ.

The OnePlus 3 has slightly higher battery capacity than the Sony Xperia XZ. The RAM capacity of OnePlus 3 model is twice as much than that of the Sony Xperia XZ as per GSM Arena. However, Sony Xperia XZ has expandable storage option unlike the OnePlus 3 model and can provide expandable storage up to 200 GB.

Sony models are well known for their great cameras and the dominance continues for the Xperia XZ model. With an incredible 23MP rear with flash and a 13 MP front camera, it comfortably beats the OnePlus 3, which comes with 16 MP rear and 8 MP front camera. The video recording and camera technology are the biggest strengths of the Sony Xperia XZ model compared to the OnePlus 3 model.

Between the two models, Sony Xperia XZ is the only model which supports FM Radio.

Which is the winner here? Well, it is up to the user's need to decide that. For shutterbugs and FM Radio listeners, the Sony Xperia XZ seems to be a perfect choice. Users who love strong specs, a sleek design or are concerned with more battery life has a better choice of going with the OnePlus 3 model.
