NBA Trade Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers Eyeing New York Knicks' Derrick Rose?

The latest NBA trade rumors hinted that the Cleveland Cavaliers might enter a deal with the New York Knicks for their point guard, Derrick Rose.

Sports Rageous reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers are in the process of rebuilding their roster in order to make their lineup strong to provide tough competition to other teams in the NBA league. Reports claimed that the Cavaliers are currently in need of a backup point guard and adding Rose is expected to solve their problem. According to the trade rumors, Rose will provide the Cavaliers with excellent offensive skills, which will help the team to limit Kyrie Irving's playing time and thus provide him with proper rest to recover from his knee injury.

It is stated that Rose will be teamed up with Cavaliers' core lineup, which includes shooting guard J.R. Smith and small forward Iman Shumpert, which will help the team to put up high scores on the board and defend their champion status.

On the other hand, few reports suggested that even the New York Knicks are looking forward to trading Rose before this season's trade deadline. The NBA trade rumors hinted that the currently the Knicks is planning to reshuffle their roster as they already have a strong frontcourt lineup consisting of players like small forward Carmelo Anthony and power forward Kristaps Porzingis.

Should the deal between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks become a reality, it is unclear as to which player the former will trade away in order to bring in Rose. Furthermore, there is still no official word on whether the teams will push through with the rumored trade scenario. Hence, these reports should still be taken with a grain of salt.
