With the release of Android latest update from Google, HTC Smartphones users are being impatient on discussion forums for the release date of Nougat update from their manufacturer. However, actual roll out dates are still uncertain at this point since most of the developers take as much time as necessary in conducting Android tests on their devices.
The Chinese manufacturer is very active in adopting new technologies be it hardware or software updates. It is evident from a from Android Authority that last time, Hi-Tech Computers were just a couple of months late in rolling out the Marshmallow update for their HTC One M9 and HTC One A9, after its (Android 6.0) official release.
One of the first adopters of new updates, HTC has released the list of smartphones which will receive the initial roll out of Android Nougat updates. It was also the first company to issue the list of its Android Nougat compatible device on Android Platform.
The list of smartphones to get the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update includes HTC 10, HTC One A9 and HTC One M9. It is confirmed that the device will be getting the updates soon, however the official release date is not out.
As we can track down the transition path, we can expect an initial release of beta version of Android Nougat from HTC. Also, every smartphone manufacturers took great care for their updates by taking important data from benchmark sites and other Android testing forums for their Beta-version. Only after the bug fixes and improvements based on beta-testing, the official on-air release is done for the mass consumers.
In case of HTC, we can expect that the flagship device HTC 10 will be the first to get the update and later the other eligible devices. Also, it is rumoured that the Android Nougat 7.0 will not be compatible with devices which are older than two years.
Nevertheless, HTC said that the unlocked models of the eligible devices will get the Nougat update first. Carrier versions of HTC phones will have to wait for their carriers to release the update. We can expect a release in Dec, 2017.
Stay tuned for more updates.
