Director Yeon Sang-Ho finally clears up the speculations about the much-awaited "Train to Busan" sequel. Although many fans look forward to good news, it looks like "Train to Busan 2" will no longer happen.

"Train to Busan" gained so much popularity not only in Korea but all around the world. In fact, the zombie movie successfully premiered in 156 countries and grossed a whopping $88,146,403.

With this, fans notably want another sequel. To recall, the "Train to Busan" lead actor Gong Yoo also expressed his eagerness to take part in the next installment.

"I talked about this with Director Yeon Sang Ho, and I said that I thought my character Seok Woo might be living somewhere as a zombie," the actor said during an interview.

"But Director Yeon said that when Seok Woo fell off the train, he broke his neck and died," Gong Yoo said with a laugh during the same interview.

Moreover, director Yeon Sang Ho confirmed that the sequel will definitely not happen despite its global success, the popular director expressed that even from the start, he had no plans to make a sequel.

"Because I've been asked so much about the sequel, I sometimes ask myself whether I should do it, or what kind of approach I should take, if I do, "Train" was, however, not developed as a series to begin with, and I have no plan for its sequel for now," Director Yeon explained.

"I hear that investors have been pitched many zombie-tinged scripts since the success of "Train,"" he said.

"But I hope to see some new types of zombie movies, rather than another "Train"-esque action blockbuster. For example, "World War Z" and "Warm Bodies" are both zombie movies, but they're totally different in terms of tone and manner," he further explained.

While fans are still hopeful for "Train to Busan 2," some are also excited to watch the animated prequel "Seoul Station" to be released on their local theaters.
