Bethesda has recently released a new patch for "Dishonored 2" on Steam, following the PC performance issues experienced by a number of disappointed players.

Writing on "Dishonored 2" Steam updates page, Bethesda community manager Jessica Finster acknowledged the issue with the PC version of the game.

"When 'Dishonored 2' was launched, the game experienced PC performance problems on machines with specific configurations," Finster said. "We're working to address some of these with our updates over time, and some will be addressed by driver updates released by our partners."

NVIDIA users should download the GeForce Hot Fix driver 375.95 before playing "Dishonored 2," which is available on the NVIDIA site through this link. For AMD card owners, the recommended driver is still the Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.10.2, which is available on the AMD support site via this link.

Bethesda has also launched a patch 1.1 for "Dishonored 2," which is available on Steam as a Beta update. The update, which weighs in at a hefty 7GB, according to PC Invasion, will hopefully fix the issues plaguing the PC version of the game. Below are the patch notes for the update:

Mouse improvements, including a fix for sensitivity being framerate dependent

Fixes an AMD cloth physics issue, which impacts framerate at various points in the game

Fixes an issue affecting CPU task priority - the game no longer switches CPU task priority

Bethesda also announced that update 1.2, which will bring more fixes to the PC version, is also in the works, and will be available by next week.

The director of the recently released stealth action-adventure game has expressed his thoughts about the poor PC performance of the game.

Talking to a lot of equally disappointed fans on Twitter, Harvey Smith said that the team at Arkane Studios is working on a fix for the PC version of the game, which suffered from severe performance issues.

Despite the technical hiccups on PC, "Dishonored 2" received positive reviews from critics and gamers alike, with the Playstation 4 version also getting a score of 88 on Metacritic.
